Mental wellness is vital at all stages of life.
Throughout your life, you will pass through milestones and face problems such as becoming a parent, menopause, and retirement. You may suffer from overwhelming stress and mental illness, affecting your thoughts, mood, and behaviour. Major life events, like job loss, long-term injury, relocation, divorce, and loss of a loved one, can impact mental health.
If you are experiencing difficulties in this stage of life, seeking therapy may help lessen the distressing symptoms.
A major life event is becoming a parent.
Experiencing a variety of emotions is normal. However, this may indicate a perinatal mental health issue if these emotions begin to interfere with your day-to-day activities.
Any mental health issue that arises during the period between getting pregnant and a year after giving birth is referred to as perinatal mental health. Anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD resulting from birth trauma or from past trauma are prevalent symptoms.
Seeking treatment may be beneficial in order to manage the symptoms while keeping mom and baby in good health.
While women excel at managing multiple roles, the total effect of having many important responsibilities can have a significant influence on their overall health.
Apart from their employment and caregiving duties, women frequetly take on a substantial share of domestic tasks and obligations. High levels of stress, worry, and emotional weariness can result from juggling all of these responsibilities.
Recognizing and treating these issues is critical to the well-being of the working women who are also family caretakers.
